Dambulla and Overnight Stay at Kalundewa Retreat, Dambulla

DAY 02

Sigiriya Rock Fortress and Overnight Stay at Kalundewa Retreat, Dambulla

In the morning depart to the Lions Rock in Sigiriya, a UNESCO world heritage site adorning a palace on its peak. A must visit for anyone visiting Sri Lanka. Afterwards you can either return to the hotel and relax in the afternoon or head out on a safari at Minneriya National Park.

Kandy and Overnight Stay at the Kandy House, Kandy

After breakfast proceed to Kandy, while visiting the Rock Cave Temple in Dambulla and Spice Garden Matale en route. Later in the evening witness a Cultural Dance performance.

Sri Lanka has many historical cave temples. The one at Dambulla is the most important of all the temples in the island. One fact to remember is that the origins of all cave temples are connected to King Walagamba who seems to have been much more interested in exploration rather than in ruling the land. Kandy and Overnight Stay at The Kandy House, Kandy

In the morning spend the day touring the Kandy town including a visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic. In the afternoon you can choose to relax in the pool or head to the Royal Botanical Garden.
